Understand report dates, metrics, and comparisons

Read workspace reporting periods, claim rate, current statuses, and missing historical values correctly.

Dates and comparison periods

New reports use your workspace timezone, including both selected dates. Existing saved reports keep their legacy UTC interpretation, shown alongside the configuration. Queued and generated reports keep the timezone used when submitted; changing Settings affects future workspace reports. Issuance means when a warranty was created in Warly, not its purchase date. Previous period is the immediately preceding period of the same length. Previous year uses the corresponding dates a year earlier, with leap-day adjustment.

Choose a range of at most three years. Day grouping supports up to 93 inclusive days; use a broader grouping for longer ranges. Trends can group by day, week, month, quarter, or year.

Percentage change is unavailable when the comparison value is zero or missing. No recorded comparison activity does not certify that the business had no activity; older records may be incomplete.

MetricWhat it counts
Warranties issuedWarranties created in the selected period, including ones later voided.
Active / Expired / Voided warrantiesCurrent status of the selected issued warranties, not their status at the historical period end. Coverage includes the entire expiration date in the issuing workspace timezone.
Claims openedClaims submitted in the period. Multiple claims for one warranty count separately.
PendingClaims opened in the period that are currently Submitted, Under Review, Approved, or In Progress.
Customers / Products coveredDistinct recorded customers or products on warranties issued in the period.
Average duration monthsAverage stated warranty duration for warranties issued in the period.

Claim rate uses issued warranties

Claim rate = selected issued warranties with at least one qualifying claim by the report end ÷ selected issued warranties × 100. Repeat claims on one warranty count once in the top number. Claims with missing dates or dates before issuance do not qualify.

For example, if 100 warranties were issued in September and 8 of them had qualifying claims by September 30, the claim rate is 8%, even if those 8 warranties had 12 claims. September claims on older warranties contribute to Claims opened but not to that September issuance claim rate.

Issuer filters restrict the selected warranties. Claim filters, including assignee and recorded actors, restrict qualifying claims. Trend buckets observe claims through the report end, rather than each bucket end. Recent warranties have had less time to develop claims.

Claim-status breakdowns share the selected warranty denominator. Do not add their warranty, customer, or product counts together as if each row contained different records.

Read missing values as unavailable

A dash means a value cannot be calculated from the available information; it is not zero. Older records may lack a reliable member, decision event, or complete handling duration. Warly keeps unavailable information separate instead of assigning it to a person or estimating a duration.

Use the definition beside a metric and the report notes when comparing results. Resolution and decision metrics follow recorded events, which can fall in a different period from claim opening.
