Track resolution time, open claims, and expirations
Read active handling duration and resolution episodes, and review upcoming warranty expiration.
Resolution episodes and time
Resolution episodes counts explicit moves to Resolved during the selected period. Resolving a reopened claim counts another episode. Reopening or closing does not remove an earlier episode; moving directly to Closed is not a resolution.
Mean active handling days averages the cumulative active handling time at each qualifying resolution. Median active handling days is the middle duration. Time spent Resolved or Rejected is excluded; re-resolution includes earlier active handling time.
For example, a claim resolved after two active days, reopened later, and resolved after one more active day has episodes of two and three days. If both resolutions fall in the selected period, both enter the duration measures. This is elapsed active time, not staff working hours or time logged on service records.
Only complete, reliable durations enter the averages. Older claims without complete timing can still have recorded resolution events while their duration remains unavailable.
Review resolution and open work
Period Pending counts currently unresolved claims opened in the period. Backlog scope includes currently unresolved claims of any opening date. A claim with no reliable opening date has an unknown age.
- Open Reports, then Resolution, and generate the selected dates.
- Use Breakdown to inspect Resolved Claims, Open Ages, Resolution Times, or Resolvers as needed.
- Follow available links from backlog summaries or age groups to the contributing open claims. Check the displayed scope before comparing with period totals.
Review expiration inventory
Expiration inventory uses the explicit expiration-date range, independently of the period when warranties were issued, and excludes void warranties. Coverage remains active through its expiration date in the issuing workspace timezone.
Elsewhere, Expiring in 30 days refers to non-void selected issued warranties ending from today through 30 days from today, inclusive. It can differ from Expirations because the selected records differ.
- Open Expirations and set Expiration from and Expiration to calendar dates.
- Select Generate report to apply that expiration range.
- Use Breakdown to inspect expiration windows, months, products, categories, or customers, then follow available warranty links.
